Frequently asked questions

Is superannuation part of my take-home pay?

No. The 12% super guarantee is paid by your employer on top of your salary. The calculator shows it as a separate employer cost.

Why does my Medicare levy differ?

Low-income earners pay a reduced or nil levy, and the Medicare levy surcharge can apply without private hospital cover. The calculator models the standard 2% with the low-income phase-in.

Does the tool handle HELP or HECS debt?

Not yet. Study loan repayments use a separate schedule based on repayment income, so they are excluded from the estimate.

These calculators provide planning estimates, not tax advice. Verify every figure with the official guidance published by ATO (Australian Taxation Office) before you file or sign a contract.
